If you’re in real estate, you already know - your contact info is basically public property. Your phone number, email, office address, and even your broker’s info are out there for everyone to see. And guess who loves that? Spammers. 😡
At one point, I was getting 60+ spam calls a day. SIXTY. My voicemail? Always full. My sanity? Hanging by a thread. Legitimate calls from clients, lenders, and other agents? Drowning in the chaos. It got so bad I had to install Robokiller just to function. Of course, sometimes Robokiller intercepts legit calls, too, but at this point, it’s the lesser of two evils. 🤷♀️
So, How Do You Get in Touch With an Agent Who’s Buried in Spam Calls?
Simple: be persistent and strategic. Here’s what sets serious buyers and agents apart from the flakes:
📞 If an agent’s voicemail is full, call their office. Ask for them directly or even their broker.
📩 Email & Text. State who you are and why you’re reaching out. Trust me - we aren’t ignoring you. We’re just trying to separate the legit calls from the “your car warranty is expiring” scams.
🚨 For Agents: No Excuses.
If you’re a buyer and your agent can't get in touch with the listing agent, they aren’t trying hard enough. A real agent will exhaust every option before giving up. No one is ignoring every single message unless they’re completely inept.
Moral of the story? Spam calls are real, but ghosting isn’t an excuse. If someone isn’t answering, use every channel available - because the real ones? We will call you back. 📲
